EVangelise Electric Vehicle Innovation Challenge 2021

iCreate (International Centre for Entrepreneurship and Technology) is India’s leading institution for transforming startups based on tech innovation into successful businesses. We are supported by the Govt. of Gujarat and the Govt. of India, and are located in a state-of-the-art 40-acre campus in Ahmedabad. Till date, we have supported over 389 innovations and 30+ patents with a ‘high-touch, entrepreneur-first’ model, connecting them with mentors, markets and money. Over the past few years, we have created a track-record of supporting projects in the EV space – from batteries and battery management systems, to charging systems, energy recovery systems, hybrid energy storage systems, autonomous driving assisting systems, and smart functionality systems. Our campus is equipped with design and simulation labs, rapid prototyping facilities, and core expertise in embedded systems. We have forged a deep relationship with the innovation ecosystem of Israel, the country known as the world’s “Startup Nation”.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE

Whether you are a college student, an independent innovator, a researcher or a startup, we welcome all to participate in EVangelise, and come up with breakthrough solutions across different stages of the EV technology value chain.

IDEA STAGE

Define fundamental logic behind your proposed innovation and submit the method of increasing efficiency and effectiveness of an electric 2&3 wheeler with a detailed description.

Shortlisted participants move on to the Design stage.

Submission Deadline: 15 September 2021
Announcement of results by: 23 september 2021

Prizes :

1st Prize: INR. 75,000 (1 each across all 4 categories)

2nd Prize: INR. 50,000 (1 each across all 4 categories)

3rd Prize: INR. 25,000 (1 each across all 4 categories)

Requires theoretically proven idea with calculations, design plans and should be simulated on a standard software. Only the output submitted as a report.

Shortlisted participants from the Idea and selected direct applicants of this stage will be eligible to move to the Build stage.

Announcement of results by: 23 OCTOBER 2021

DESIGN STAGE

Requires delivery of a functional prototype of your design presenting a solution to our challenge and built to showcase your engineering and implementation skills. All finalists move on to the Evangelise Innovation Showcase and Selected finalists will get an opportunity to pitch at ‘Electrify Your Future’

PROTOTYPE SUBMISSION DEADLINE: 15 JANUARY 2022

ANNOUNCEMENT OF RESULTS BY: FEBRUARY 2022 (announcement at the Expo; participates shortlisted for the Pitch would be intimated in advance)

Prizes :

Other than top 3 winners, 15 Finalists will get a prize of INR 3,00,000 each

Support from iCreate in terms of expert mentoring, rapid prototyping facilities (iLab@iCreate), and the opportunity to get a suitable grant (through Create Pro-Fund Gateway).

BUILD STAGE

This will be the grand finale in Kevadia, against the backdrop of the Statue of Unity, the world’s tallest statue built to honour Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The Showcase Stage will consist of 3 events:

EV EXPO: All finalist will present their innovations to a jury comprising top EV industry experts and VCs.

ELECTRIFY YOUR FUTURE PITCH: From 15 finalists, selected few will get a chance to present their innovations to a jury comprising top EV industry experts and VCs and win incubation support, market connect and mentorship from industry leaders.

STATUE OF UNITY EV RACE: Various EV 2&3 wheeler manufacturing companies will participate in this race under various categories and race their vehicle to the finish line

Prizes :

1st Prize: INR. 10,00,000

2nd Prize: INR. 7,50,000

3rd Prize: INR. 5,00,000

Selected participants will get incubation support of INR.50,00,000 each, market connections and industry mentorship

GUIDELINES

Startups are welcome to apply to any of the three stages but will be entered into the build stage only after an evaluation of their final application.

Early-stage or idea stage startups are recommended to apply to the idea/design stage depending on their TRL(Technology Readiness Level) level.

Organizers have rights to change rules and regulations. iCreate’s decision will be final.

ELIGIBILITY

Anyone can apply to Evangelise, be it a startup, Individual innovator, researcher or academician.

Startups incorporated less than 5 years ago and not having significant revenue (less than INR 25,00,000)

Individual innovators, researchers and academicians having intent to take it forward as a startup

International innovators are eligible to apply.

Innovation must include a hardware element

International innovators or startups are encouraged to apply

Project or concept must be part of the given focus area wholly or partly

Presence of some innovative element or in house design.
