Every day is a new beginning and an opportunity too; to learn new things, make new choices and take informed decisions. If we all make our choices with nature in mind, then together we can find a way to live in balance with the natural world. After all, we are part of nature, and we need it to survive on Our Planet.

Our planet is home to incredible diversity of natural places and life. The ecosystems have evolved over millions of years resulting in diverse and complex biological communities living in balance with the environment. The potential loss of any of the species can lead to unprecedented changes in diversity and modifications in our ecosystem leading to collapse of the entire environmental system. According to the Living Planet Report (LPR), 68 % of the wildlife populations have declined from the 1970s. Over the past few decade human activities have destroyed and degraded forests, grasslands, wetlands and other important ecosystems, threatening human well-being.

Each one of us has a role to play- all we need is the will to act. It’s only when we have a shared understanding of the problems we face, and the solutions available, we can take action to bend the curve of biodiversity loss.

This year, Wild Wisdom challenge will take you into an exciting and a reflective journey!

Taking inspiration from the messages and themes within the film – David Attenborough: A Life on Our Planet, Wild Wisdom 2021 will take you through the journey of exploration, understanding and taking action to build a sustainable planet. Through the quiz we will explore how to go Net Zero, Revive the Oceans, Eliminate Waste and Re-Wild the World.

Sir David Attenborough has seen first-hand the monumental scale of environmental change caused by human actions and it’s the time for you to get some wisdom by understanding the humanity’s impact on nature. Generations of people have grown up watching him and hearing his empathetic voice for nature and its wonders. If you too want to make a difference, take this opportunity to understand from the man who has devoted his life exploring the wild places of our planet and documenting the living world in all its variety and wonder, across the globe.

FAQs

Registration:

Q1. Who can register for Wild Wisdom Global Challenge 2021?
A. Wild Wisdom Challenge 2021 is taking registrations by schools only. The challenge is open to students from Grade 6th-9th only.

Q2. How can a school register for the Wild Wisdom Global Challenge?
A. Sign up for Wild Wisdom Challenge on https://quiz.wwfindia.org/register and make online payment of the registration fee.

Q3. What is the registration fee?
A. Registration fee for the Wild Wisdom Global Challenge in INR 20 per student.

Q4. Can schools register less than 100 students?
A.No, Minimum participation for this global challenge from each school is 100 students. There is no maximum limit of participating students from each school.

Q5. Do the schools have to register their students in teams/ pairs?
A.No, Students will be registered individually on the global platform. However, after the school level, top performing students form every school will be paired in teams of two, by the teacher, on the basis of their ranks on the leaderboard.

Q6. What is the eligibility for participation by school?
A.School has to assure a minimum participation of 100 students to join the Wild Wisdom Global Challenge.

Q7. Can students register independently for the global challenge?
A. No, registrations will be done by schools only. Interested students can contact school authority to register.

Q8. What is the process of school registration?
A.
1. Interested schools will register themselves by clicking on this link: https://quiz.wwfindia.org/register

2. Upon successful registration, school will receive a confirmation e-mail.

3. WWF India will provide preparatory material on the registered school e-mail id till the Wild Wisdom Global Challenge commences.

4. Coordinating teacher from all registered schools will be given access to the Global Challenge Website with a personalized dashboard in September.

5. Once on board, teacher can further give access to all participating students from their school.

6. Students will get their personalized dashboards where they will create their unique username and password.

7. Once signed up on the global challenge website, all students will have the access to the challenge, comprising of set of live quizzes and learning material, on their dashboards.

8. Leaderboard and scores of participants will be displayed on every teacher’s as well as student’s dashboard.

Q9. Will schools get confirmation email for registration?
A. Yes, a confirmation e-mail will be sent to the registered school e-mail id.

Q10. When do registrations begin?
A.School registrations begin from April, 2021.

Q11. What is the last date for registrations?
A.Last date of registration is 31st August, 2021.

Theme and Preparation:

Q1. What is the theme for Wild Wisdom Challenge 2021?
A.The theme for this year’s challenge is Life on Our Planet- A Hope for Future Generations! The questions will be based on the imperatives of the David Attenborough film: Go Net Zero, Revive the Oceans, Eliminate Waste and Re-Wild the World.

A.We have a set of Wild Wisdom Quiz Books Vol I, Vol II and Vol III, which you can purchase online simply by clicking here.

Apart from books, every registered school will get FREE access to Wisdom Nuggets e-newsletters fortnightly on their registered school e-mails. Wisdom Nuggets is a collated series of newsletters, to help students to prepare for the quiz. These newsletters inculcate a deeper understanding and better learning outcomes among students about wildlife conservation.

Q1. How many levels are there in Wild Wisdom Challenge 2021?
A.Wild Wisdom Challenge 2021 comprises of the following levels – School Challenge, National Challenge and the Global Face-off. In the Gear up phase, WWF India will prepare students for the challenge.

Q2. How and where will the Wild Wisdom Challenge be conducted?
A.Wild Wisdom challenge will be completely conducted virtually.

Q3. How will the students get access to the challenge?
A. A coordinating teacher has to register his/her school for the Wild Wisdom Global Challenge. The challenge will be open to students in September. Students will have to log on to the portal (access provided by WWF India), set username and password and begin the challenge.

Payment:

Q1. What is the payment mode for registration?
A.Schools can pay the registration fees online through credit cards, debit cards, NetBanking or UPI.

Q2. Will WWF send an acknowledgment mail or receipt for the payments?
A.Yes, an automatic mail will be sent from WWF as soon as we receive your payment.

Prizes and Appreciation:

Q1. Will the participants get any recognition?
A.Yes, all participating students will get a digital certificate.

Q2. Will winners get any appreciation?
A.Winners at all levels i.e. State level, National Level and International level will be recognized and appreciated with exciting prizes and certificates.
