ISB Spelling Bee International is conceived and developed by an organisation that believes that Educational Contests should not only be competitive but also add value to the students. They can play an important role in the educational process in our society.

Mission and Goals

Our mission is to create a spelling bee that will be held across the world as the leading Spelling Bee. It aims to reach out to students across the world including metro cities and small towns so that they all have an opportunity to participate. It would be a unique combination of education, fun and competition.

Our Vision

We envisage the ISB Spelling Bee International as the premier Spelling Bee across the World. ISB Spelling Bee International would set the highest standards in transparency, quality, accessibility and ease of participation for all students.

Our Programmes

The first of our programmes is the ISB Spelling Bee International. It can have participation of everyone across the world, from classes 1 onwards. It also offers opportunity for corporates houses to be involved in this unique activity that encourages literacy.

ISB Spelling Bee International is a unique educational activity that combines education, fun and competition. It has been designed keeping in mind the inputs gained from the past so many years of organising spelling contests across the world. We have had feedback from thousands of school heads, teachers and students. These have all helped in creating a unique format for ISB Spelling Bee International. While it is competitive in nature, it also adds significant educational value to each student’s education.

ISB Spelling Bee International is also more inclusive, as students from all across the world can participate irrespective of country, board, medium of education or gender. We hope to even reach out to students in the smaller towns and cities, who may not have an opportunity to participate in such contests, generally.

ISB Spelling Bee International offers an opportunity to students of ages 5 to 14 to participate. All participants in ISB Spelling Bee International will be awarded Certificates of Participation.

There are three rounds in the competition:

• Preliminary Level
• National/Regional Level
• International Level

The participants who qualify the preliminary level exam will get a chance to participate at the national/regional level. The winners in this level will qualify for the International Championship of ISB Spelling Bee International.

ALL THE ROUNDS OF THIS CONTEST ARE FULLY ONLINE.
Participants will be sorted into 5 Groups based on their age.

All levels of the contest will be held group-wise.
Group 1 : Ages 5 to 6
Group 2 : Ages 7 to 8
Group 3 : Ages 9 to 10
Group 4 : Ages 11 to 12
Group 5 : Ages 13 to 14

Upon registration, each participant will receive a soft copy of that group’s ISB Spelling Bee International Guide Book, which has more than a thousand words, practice exercises and sample papers, to prepare for the contest. They also get a soft copy of the book ‘1001 Most Commonly Misspelled Words’ absolutely free of cost.

Participants are also entitled to 6 mock tests, which they can take before the preliminary level exam, to get familiar to the pattern of the exam. The participants will get to choose the dates for their mock tests.

The preliminary level examinations will be held on 1st of every month, starting from August 2021 till April 2022. The participants can choose any one of these dates.

The National/Regional Level and the International Level will be held after the the last date for preliminary level, tentatively in April, 2022.

Here are some important dates for this year’s contest:

Last date for Preliminary Level Exam : 1st April, 2022

Important points:

i) ISB Spelling Bee International is open for participation to children of ages 5 to 14.
ii) Students can be of any school, in any country across the world.
iii) Students will compete in their respective categories as per age.
iv) The contest is a fully online contest only.
v) If you want to register for more than one student, please provide us with a different email address for each student.
vi) There is a one time participation fee of $20 / Rs.1499 and no other extra charges whatsoever for further rounds.
